500 Corvettes News
(June 24, 2013)
HISTORIC CORVETTES ON DISPLAY-
Three very special Corvettes will be on display at LeMay, America’s Car Museum in conjunction with “500 Corvettes”. The ’59 Stingray, Mako Shark and Manta Ray will only be in the NW the weekend of our event. These three cars are arguably the most significant concept vehicles in the 60-year history of the Corvette. It is highly unlikely this trio will return to the NW in the near future. Don’t miss this opportunity to check out some early Corvette history!
WILL THERE BE A C7 CORVETTE AT THE SHOW??-
We’ve been asked this question a few times lately. The answer today is…. Maybe. There are definitely efforts being made to have a new Corvette join us. The latest info I have is that production may not begin soon enough for us to get a production car fresh from the assembly line. However, we know Chevrolet has more than a couple pre-production C7 Corvettes showing up around the country. We don’t care where the car comes from, we just want one! You may have to come to the event to find out for sure, or hear about what you missed!
DID YOU KNOW THERE ARE OVER 110 DIFFERENT ROOT BEERS?-
You’ll want to stop by the Root Beer Store’s booth Friday evening at the Museum for a root beer float! If you happen to like the other kind of beer (or wine) those choices will also be available.
PINSTRIPERS WILL BE AT THE FAIRGROUNDS-
Looking for a special touch to your Corvette? Or your helmet, cell phone, guitar, or whatever, these guys will stripe about anything that isn’t breathing. (Please, no stuffed animals)
NW CHAPTER OF NATIONAL CORVETTE RESTORERS SOCIETY MEET-
Four vintage Corvettes are scheduled to be judged Saturday at the Fairgrounds. If you would like to learn more about your Corvette, please stop by the NCRS booth near the Fair Farm building.
VALVE COVER RACES-
Valve Cover Races have been cancelled as we did not receive the minimum number of entries. (8/7/13)

(May 10, 2013)
The registration form for 500 Corvettes has been updated to provide a bit more vendor information. There is now a provision to request inside booth space, rent tables or request a power drop. We are estimating anywhere from 25 to 50 vendors might want to join us. The swap meet portion is limited to Corvette only parts, services or accessories, new, reconditioned or good used. Non-automotive goods will be considered, please contact us if you sell non-automotive items.
CORVETTE CAR CORRAL-
This is a Corvette only selling area. If you want to advertise your Corvette for sale but don’t want to be in a designated sale area, that’s OK. The additional $10 fee applies to any Corvette wearing a for sale sign on the grounds.
DINNER WITH WENDELL-
Through the efforts of Len Tucker, Classical Glass Corvette Club’s National Corvette Museum ambassador, there will be a special member’s only dinner Saturday evening with Wendell Strode, the National Corvette Museum executive director. Wendell will be with us Friday and Saturday for our event as one of our special VIP Corvette guests.
CORVETTE NOSTALGIA DISPLAY-
We are looking for items for our Corvette Nostalgia display. We have lockable glass display cases in our building at the show. If you have club or personnel mementos (photos, stickers, jackets, memorabilia, etc) give us a call. How long have you been in the Corvette hobby???
THE CANADIANS ARE COMING! -
Rumor has it there are as many as 20 Corvettes coming from British Columbia Corvette Club and possibly another 10 from Victoria Corvette Club. We’ve already seen several registrations from north of the border.
MORE HOTEL ROOMS-
We have added an additional block of rooms at our 2nd host hotel, the Fairfield Inn & Suites. The Fairfield is just across the street from the Hampton. Our special rates start at $119 at the Fairfield. These rooms are slightly larger than the Hampton rooms. The Hampton still has rooms available, but is sold out of the Queen/double occupancy rooms.
DATE CHANGE FOR PRE-REGISTRATION RATES-
The early registration date is now good until July 31 as shown on the registration form.
WHAT KIND OF CORVETTE ARE YOU BRINGING? -
Are you the guy (or gal) who’s Corvette hasn’t seen the light of day in the last 10 (15, 20??) years?? If you’re looking for an excuse to get it down off the blocks or out of the back corner of the shop, this is it. We’re only going to have one 60th Corvette anniversary party! Drive it or drag it, but get it to the show!
